Aris Fioretos to Give the Fourth CeMoG Lecture at Freie Universität Berlin. â?- 159/2017 from Jun 12, 2017 On Friday, June 16, the Swedish scholar and writer of Austrian-Greek extraction, Aris Fioretos, as a guest of honor of the Center for Modern Greece, will give the fourth CeMoG Lecture at Freie Universität Berlin. The public lecture will be held in German with simultaneous translation into Greek. Admission is free. Aris Fioretos, born in 1960 in Gothenburg as the son of an Austrian mother and a Greek father, studied in Stockholm and Paris and at Yale University. In recent years he has received numerous awards for his novels and translations. Since 2010 he has been a professor of aesthetics at Södertörn University near Stockholm, and since 2011 he has been one of the vice presidents of the German Academy for Language and Literature in Darmstadt.
