Reimar Lüst Award for Historian Mary Lindemann

American Scholar to Begin Research Stay at Freie Universität Berlin in October. No 246/2017 from Sep 22, 2017 The American historian Mary Lindemann from the University of Miami has won a Reimar Lüst Award from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. Lindemann was nominated by Alexander Schunka from the Department of History and Cultural Studies, Freie Universität Berlin. Beginning in October she will start doing research at the Friedrich Meinecke Institute of History, Freie Universität. The award was presented in recognition of the lifetime achievements of Lindemann, an internationally renowned historian, who for decades has been committed to academic exchange between the United States and Germany. In Berlin she will mainly do research on resource policy in the northern and central German territories in the 17th century, the period during and following the Thirty Years' War. Mary Lindemann received her graduate education in history at the University of Cincinnati and did her dissertation research in Hamburg.
