"My Name Is Janez Jan¨a"
Screening of Slovenian Documentary Film on December 17, 2015, at Freie Universität Berlin. On December 17, 2015, at 6 p.m. the International Research Training Center "Interweaving Performance Cultures" will be screening the documentary film "My Name Is Janez Jan¨a" at Freie Universität Berlin. The film portrays the consequences of actions taken by three Slovenian artists in 2007: All three officially changed their names to that of the Slovenian Prime Minister, which caused great consternation. Following the screening, there will be a discussion with the director and Fellow of the research center, Janez Jan¨a. The film will be screened in the original Slovenian with English subtitles. Admission is free. After the change of names, Prime Minister Janez Jan¨a, who was also the chairman of the conservative Slovenian Democratic Party (SDS), was forced to act in public as one of four individuals with the same name.
