Freie Universität Berlin students will study the depiction of the Middle Ages in the American television show Game of Thrones in two public courses. The courses, offered through the Friedrich Meinecke Institute, will focus on specific topics like clothing, living conditions, social and political hierarchies, religion and legends, as well as warfare. Participants will also explore the question of how films and television shows like Game of Thrones shape contemporary ideas about the Middle Ages.
