Selected scholars from Brazil and Germany will analyze the current political struggles in Brazil as expressions of broader conflicts. The workshop will be held in English. It is open to the public, admission is free, and advance registration is not necessary. "The media have dealt with the current crisis in Brazil mainly as a consequence of corruption scandals," says Sérgio Costa, a sociologist at the Institute of Latin American Studies (LAI), Freie Universität. In doing so, they ignored connections between political changes and conflicts of distribution.
