The lecture program for Winter Semester 2025/26 offers interdisciplinary discussions, inspiring lectures, and exciting insights into current research questions. Whether you are a student, University employee, or member of the Hamburg public, the program is open to anyone who is interested.
The program offers diverse lectures covering current issues. For instance, the lectures "Der Hase Cubo und das Lama: Der Karneval der Tiere" (Cubo the rabbit and the llama: The carnival of the animals) and "Interkulturelle Bildung" (Intercultural education) deal with cultural diversity and intercultural learning. "Auf die Plätze... Sportgeschichte(n) als Gesellschaftsgeschichte" (On your marks . . . sports history as social history) examines the social significance of sport, while "Religion - Gender - Sexualität. Historische und gegenwärtige Konfliktlagen" (Religion, gender, sexuality. Historical and contemporary conflicts) and "Gender und Sexualität in Osteuropa, Ostmitteleuropa und im Kaukasus" (Gender and sexuality in eastern Europe, eastern central Europe, and the Caucasus) explore the complex interactions between religion, gender, and cultural identities. The lecture series über Hamburg forschen, lesen, schreiben-Aktuelle kulturhistorische Forschungsperspektiven (Researching, reading, writing about Hamburg-current perspectives in cultural history research) will explore the Hanseatic city from a scientific perspective.
In addition, the lectures "Digital Humanities: Grundlagen, Methoden und Reflexion in interdisziplinärer Perspektive" (Digital humanities: Fundamentals, methods, and reflection from an interdisciplinary perspective" and "Taming the Machines" will shed light on the fields of artificial intelligence and knowledge exchange and offer insights into the digital transformation in the humanities and social sciences.
The Ringvorlesung zur Klimakrise (Climate crisis lecture series), which addresses pressing questions about environmental protection, will also continue. The lectures in the Lebensmittel-Was esse ich da überhaupt? (Food-what am I actually eating?) series attendees are invited to immerse themselves in the fascinating world of food, while the speakers in the series Wer bin ich? Und wenn ja, wie?--Ringen um geeignete Hilfen für junge Menschen (Who am I? And if so, how? The struggle to find suitable help for young people) address the political, social, and psychological challenges of social psychiatry for young people.
