Love in the Dark Time of Occupation

Film Screening and Discussion on June 12, 2017, at Freie Universität. â?- 151/2017 from Jun 06, 2017 On July 12, 2017, at 6:30 p.m., a documentary film entitled "Briefe aus Athen. Portrait des Vaters zu Zeiten des Krieges" from 2016 will be screened at the Center for Modern Greece. The Greek-German production is set in the period of the German occupation of Greece from 1941 to 1944. It tells the story of a love affair, but also that of the German Institute in Athens, an institution set up during the Nazi period to study German science, art, and culture in Greece. Following the screening there will be a discussion with the director Timon Koulmasis. The event is public, and admission is free.
