Effectively immediately, the free BayernWLAN service is available through more than 2,500 access points operated by the Leibniz Supercomputing Center (LRZ) within the Munich Research Network. The service is being constantly expanded. In return, the BayernWLAN access points are broadcasting the global eduroam scientific network, a service that all TUM members can benefit from. That means you can now access eduroam not only from science and research locations, but at places such as Neuschwanstein Castle or on 15 ships operated by the Bavarian government on various lakes around the state. BayernWLAN is free-of-charge and available with no data volume restrictions. An account is not required. Users only need to select "@BayernWLAN" from the list of WiFi networks in their device and then click on "connect".
