Informatics, robotics and machine intelligence are central fields of research at the Technical University of Munich (TUM). Now TUM is networking with the new Helmholtz Artificial Intelligence Cooperation Unit (HAICU) to strengthen these future-oriented fields. Fabian Theis, Professor for Mathematical Modelling of Biological Systems at TUM, will head the Germany-wide research network. Machine learning and Artificial Intelligence (AI) play an important role in many application areas, for example health research of future, climate change and the mobility of tomorrow. Scientists from throughout Germany are working to advance research on these topics at the Helmholtz Artificial Intelligence Cooperation Unit (HAICU) . TUM professor Fabian Theis will lead the network from HAICU headquarters in Munich. Theis is one of the leading researchers in the field of bioinformatics and is head of the Institute of Computational Biology at the German Research Center for Environmental Health Helmholtz Zentrum München.
