Freie Universität Berlin Awarded Total E-Quality Rating for Sixth Time, First Time including Diversity. No 298/2017 from Oct 30, 2017 For the sixth time in a row, Freie Universität Berlin was granted a Total E-Quality award for its exemplary commitment to equality between women and men. At the awards ceremony on Friday in Gelsenkirchen, the university was also awarded a certificate for an additional criterion, diversity, which was included in the application for the first time. The selection committee noted that the university's activities in both areas are sustainable, convincing, and extensive. The award is presented for three years by the Total E-Quality e.V. nonprofit organization, an initiative promoting equal opportunities between women and men. The selection committee emphasized that numerous gender equality measures taken by Freie Universität can be used as models for other universities, for example, the systematic integration of gender aspects in study and examination regulations, the digital "Toolbox Gender and Diversity in Teaching," or the anchoring of gender controlling in the Strategic Planning and Reporting unit. Freie Universität has been successful in promoting women, especially at higher occupational levels.
