Action Month for Elimination of Violence against Women
- EN - DE
At Freie Universität the month of November this year is an action month for the elimination of gender-based violence. This month was chosen to include November 25, the day the United Nations has designated as an International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. A new blog GESCHLECHTER*GERECHT hosted by the Chief Gender Equality Office team presents information about violence against women with a focus on sexual harassment, discrimination, and violence at universities. Blog entries will address various forms of gender-based violence and portray contact offices, counseling centers, projects, and individuals working in this area. There is also a virtual exhibition #MeToo und die Universität featuring contributions by students who attended a seminar dealing with sexual harassment and violence at universities. On November 16, 2021, the Margherita von Brentano Prize from Freie Universität will be awarded to a database project, Femi(ni)zidmap , that has been documenting gender-related killings of women and girls in Germany since 2019. Registration is required to attend the digital award ceremony.
