Submenu: Faculties InstitutionChair of Analysis and its ApplicationsOur ProfileThe Chair of Analysis and its Applications at RWTH Aachen University conducts research and teaching in applied harmonic analysis, applied functional analysis, inverse problems, and the mathematical foundation of machine learning. Applications in the natural sciences and engineering are approached from both theoretical and computational perspectives.Your ProfileA completed doctoral university degree (PhD) in mathematics or a related field is required for employment. You have a solid foundation and research experience in one of the following areas: applied analysis, inverse problems, or machine learning, as well as Programming skills (for example in Python). Your research output is demonstrated by excellent preprints and publications.You are characterized by independence, initiative, and a structured approach to work, and you possess excellent communication and teamwork skills. Your Duties and ResponsibilitiesConducting mathematical research in one of the above-mentioned subfields.Developing software packages to support the research project. Publishing research results and presenting them at conferences Contributing to teaching activities and, if required, supervising student assistants. What We OfferThe successful candidate will be employed under a regular employment contract.The position is to be filled at the earliest possible date and offered for a fixed term of 2 years. The option to extend the contract beyond the initial time frame may be possible upon agreement with the subproject leaders. The fixed-term employment is possible as it constitutes one of the fixed-term options of the Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz (German Act on Fixed-term Scientific Contracts). This is a full-time position. The salary is based on the German public service salary scale (TV-L). The position corresponds to a pay grade of EG 13 TV-L.
