At Saarland University, a new Center for Quantum Technologies (QuTe) has been founded in 2025.
This center pursues research on quantum technologies in a broad sense, on the ,,hardware" side (in quantum physics, quantum optics and quantum engineering) as well as on the ,,software" side (in quantum information, theoretical physics / computer science / mathematics and quantum computing). The center is truly interdisciplinary at the interface of Physics, . It will include an outpost of the Forschungszentrum Jülich with which it will closely collaborate. This position will be located within the group of Prof. Kathrin Flaßkamp (Systems Modeling and Simulation, associated . The group’s research covers topics in optimal control, modeling of dynamical systems, numerical simulation, identification, multiobjective optimization, .

Job requirements and responsibilities; academic qualifications:

We are offering a PostDoc positions (for 2-3 years) with a focus on control of quantum systems.
The candidate will have an outstanding Master’s degree and PhD in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related, . Having previously worked within quantum systems and control is .
