The University Hospital Carl Gustav Carus Dresden offers medical care at the highest level of care. As a maximum care hospital, it covers the entire spectrum of modern medicine. The University Hospital combines 26 clinics and polyclinics, six institutes and 17 interdisciplinary centres that work closely with the clinical and theoretical institutes of the Medical Faculty. The spatial and technical equipment of the University Hospital is constantly being updated. Most recently, the new House 32 was put into operation at the end of 2018. In addition to the Surgical Emergency Department, it houses 17 state-of-the-art operating theatres, an intensive care unit, interdisciplinary outpatient clinics and 132 beds distributed across four nursing wards.
