Norbert Schmitz (fourth from left) and the Population-Based Medicine Department team - From the 2023 summer semester, the University of Tübingen is offering an international Master's degree in Population-Based Medicine (PBM). Over four semesters, the degree program will train future experts to cope with the health issues societies face. The degree program is offered entirely in English and therefore equally suitable for German and international students. A mandatory internship in the third semester can be taken in Germany or abroad. Using an interdisciplinary approach, students will examine factors that can affect population health - from individual behavior through environmental influences, social and cultural aspects to political and economic correlations. This primarily involves them learning to handle large medical data sets, statistical and epidemiological methods. Each student will be guided and advised by a personal mentor throughout their studies.
