Named after Philosophy Professor Margherita von Brentano
The Margherita von Brentano Center was founded at Freie Universität. The new center for gender studies was named after Margherita von Brentano (1922-1995), a professor of philosophy and the first woman to serve as a vice president of Freie Universität Berlin. The Margherita von Brentano Center has been tasked with initiating and coordinating activities related to gender and diversity studies in the areas of research and teaching as well as publication strategies.
