Interdisciplinary Franco-German Summer School at Chiemsee from September 6 to 12, 2015 / Applications being accepted until May 26. A Franco-German Summer School will be held from September 6 to 12, 2015, on the island Frauenwörth in Chiemsee. It will deal with manuscripts as the origin of our culture and a documentation of its historical development. The application period is now open. The participants will take an interdisciplinary approach and analyze the manuscripts from various cultural and regional perspectives: in addition to historical, literary, and linguistic lectures, there will be introductions to material analysis, image processing techniques, digital humanities, and computer science. There will also be courses on mobile instruments (XRF, RTI) and computer programs. The summer school is being organized by Heinz-Eberhard Mahnke of the Cluster of Excellence Topoi and the Department of Physics at Freie Universität and Daniel Stökl Ben Ezra of the École Pratique des Hautes Études at the Sorbonne, Paris.
