25 April: University Open Day at TU Ilmenau

- EN - DE
On April 25, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the TUIlmenau cordially invites high school seniors, their parents, and anyone else interested to attend its Open House. During the open house, you will have the opportunity to learn all’about the university, its academic programs, and campus life - so you can decide whether to pursue your studies at TU Ilmenau. Enrollment for all bachelor’s programs is open without a numerus clausus until September 15. Information and program: www.tu-ilmenau.de/hit

The Open House begins at 10 a.m. in the Humboldtbau, the largest teaching and event building at TU Ilmenau. Throughout the day, staff from the university and the Thuringia Student Services Association will be available in the Humboldtbau to answer questions about applications, enrollment, student financing, and housing. At information and counseling booths, prospective students can learn everything about the various degree programs through personal conversations. There will also be presentations on each degree program, followed by a Q&A session. To help students choose the right program for them, the event will also highlight the role that engineering, natural sciences, and mathematics play in our daily lives. Interested students will even have the opportunity to receive personalized guidance or participate in application coaching.

A special highlight of the Open House are the workshops and lab tours, where participants can experience current topics in teaching and research-robotics, virtual reality, autonomous driving, sustainability...up close. And during interactive demonstrations of applied research projects, they even have the opportunity to get hands-on. On guided tours led by students from TU Ilmenau, high school students explore the university campus - considered one of the most beautiful in Germany - with its buildings, labs, and institutes, or they discover it using their cell phones on an exciting geocaching tour. The University Sports Center provides information about the university’s extensive sports program, and student clubs showcase the diverse club and cultural scene on campus.

For the first time at the Open House: "Nerdiversity"-- a unique gathering space, a place as diverse as TU Ilmenau itself. By participating in the various workshops offered by student clubs, you can try new things and discover or deepen your own interests. Here, different interests, perspectives, and passions come together - and here, they find their place. Diversity for a vibrant, mutually inspiring campus life at TU Ilmenau.

Even for children as young as preschool age, there’s a special program item at TU Ilmenau’s Open House: At 10:15 a.m., accompanied by their parents, they’ll set off from the Humboldtbau on a guided tour where they can experience exciting research topics tailored just for them up close. Throughout the day, the university radio station hsf-arguably Germany’s oldest student radio station-will keep the mood lively. And the Student Services Association will provide food and drinks for all visitors.
