Study shows: "Switching to a new battery technology does not automatically open the door to new market players".

A new study warns that efforts to reduce bureaucracy may fail due to a lack of information among the population. The representative survey conducted by the Institute has found that the majority of adults in Germany are unaware of new legal provisions allowing them to dispense with handwritten signatures in everyday transactions. However, some segments of the population are systematically better informed.

The Thuringian Innovation Center for Mobility at the TU Ilmenau is launching a research group that aims to make autonomous vehicles safer and road traffic more efficient. An ambitious goal: communication and radar systems based on the future 6G mobile communications standard will enable automated vehicles to detect their entire surroundings with high precision and speed - the data exchanged between them will help to prevent accidents and optimize traffic flows. The research group is being co-financed by the Free State of Thuringia with €963,700 for three years from the European Social Fund Plus.

Automated vehicles are conquering the roads. So it is high time to research how reliability and safety can be optimized in the communication between human and technical systems. The Thuringian Center for Innovation in Mobility (ThIMo) at TU Ilmenau is tackling precisely this issue with a new research group.
