Budapest - Berlin: Dreams Come from the Past, Not the Future
No 225/2018 from Sep 03, 2018 An exhibition of the works of young Hungarian artists was opened in the Löwenpalais in Berlin-Grunewald in cooperation with Freie Universität. The project was initiated by Klaus Siebenhaar at the Institute of German and Dutch Languages and Literatures, Freie Universität, and Dániel Ongjerth from the Budapest Eleven-Blokk Foundation. It is the prelude to a cultural exchange program between Berlin and Budapest. Entitled "Dreams Come From The Past, Not From The Future," the exhibition features works by the artists Sári Ember, Patrícia Kaliczka, Kata Tranker, and Ádám Ulbert, which range between tradition and the present. It is being curated by the Budapest art historian Flóra Gadó and will be on display until September 23. Admission is free. The exhibition of contemporary Hungarian art brings together works of diverse styles, materials, and forms of media: installations, paintings, works made of paper, and marble masks.
