MPG - In the most recent round of calls for Consolidator Grants of the European Research Council, the Max Planck Society was once again successful, scopping up ten grants in total. In the Europe-wide comparison, the French Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) took first place again with 18 grants, followed by the Max Planck Society in second place with 10 grants. The University of Cambridge is in third place with eight grants. The Helmholtz Association, the Leibniz Association, the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and the Weizmann Institute of Science came fourth with six grants each. Of a total of 2222 applications submitted, 321 were approved across Europe, including 112 grants for female scientists.
