The University’s bridge course program prepares students for the upcoming winter semester.
This September, RWTH will kick off the 2024/2025 winter semester with an extensive bridge course program. These preparatory courses are designed to help prospective and current students refresh their school knowledge and fill any gaps. They also play a crucial social role, helping first-year students transition smoothly into university life, form study groups, and make new friends.’
We offer in-person courses in mathematics, chemistry, physics, computer science, CAD, and English literature and linguistics. Most courses also have a remote participation option. However, for the best start to your university studies, we recommend attending on-site. If you’re unsure about which degree program to choose, our bridge courses navigator is available to assist you in making an informed decision.
These courses are primarily aimed at first-semester students and advanced students who want to get a solid grounding in specific subjects before tackling higher-level courses. Detailed course requirements can be found in the course descriptions.
The first bridge courses begin in early September. All courses require registration but are free of charge. Enrollment at RWTH is not required for participation. Our most comprehensive bridge course in Mathematics lasts four weeks and participants may be eligible for financial assistance under Germany’s Training Assistance Act (BAföG).
