English-language online panel discussion to be hosted by the Cluster of Excellence "Contestations of the Liberal Script - SCRIPTS" at Freie Universität Berlin on March 15, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. (CET)
On March 15, 2022, an online panel discussion hosted by the Cluster of Excellence "Contestations of the Liberal Script (SCRIPTS)" will address European and global perspectives on Russia’s attack on Ukraine. Seven scholars from China, Europe, India, and Ukraine will describe, explain, and discuss diverging European and global perspectives with regard to the attack by Russia, as well as possible consequences for the international liberal order. The English-language event can be followed via a live stream.
In an extraordinary session of the German parliament on February 27, 2022, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) emphasized in his speech on the Russian invasion of Ukraine that we are living through a turning point in history, a so-called Zeitenwende. According to experts, Russia’s attack is not only threatening Ukraine’s sovereignty; it is also endangering and changing the European and international order that emerged after the end of the Cold War.
