The Technical University of Munich (TUM) is ranked 50th in the world in this year’s Shanghai Ranking. This makes it the only technical university in Germany to place among the top 100, and one of four German universities to earn that distinction, alongside Heidelberg (42nd), LMU (57th) and Göttingen (95th).


The Shanghai Ranking - officially known as the Academic Ranking of World Universities - was developed at the Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
