Impact Rankings released by Times Higher Education
In the THE Impact Rankings, TUM has again placed first worldwide in the category industry, innovation, and infrastructure. The rankings cover research output as well as patents, spin-offs and working relationships with companies.For the ,,Impact Rankings" , the British magazine Times Higher Education studies the impact of universities in various categories derived from the United Nations Global Sustainable Development Goals. In the area of industry, innovation and infrastructure, the rankings reflect the number of research publications in fields that play an important role in innovations with a sustainable impact such as energy, Industry 4.0, smart cities and 3D printing. Also reflected in the university rankings are citations of research work in patents, the number of start-ups launched and the research income from industry.
TUM received the maximum number of points and therefore placed first along with three other universities. It has now achieved the top ranking three times - in other words, in every edition of the rankings to date.
