The Technische Universität Ilmenau is awarding Deutschlanstipendien to 48 students in the 2024/25 academic year - more than ever before. Three new sponsors have also been added, who are committed to a Deutschlandstipendium for one year. The scholarships will be presented to the scholarship holders in person by the sponsors on November 6 at 4 pm in the Auditorium Maximum at TU Ilmenau. Representatives of the media are cordially invited to the event.
In the federal program, students whose careers promise outstanding achievements in their studies and careers are supported for one year with a Deutschlandstipendium of 300 euros per month. Half of the funding comes from voluntary sponsors - companies, foundations, associations and private individuals - and the other half from the federal government. This year, 21 sponsors are making it possible to award scholarships to 48 students. TU Ilmenau has been involved in the federal program since its inception in 2011. A total of 640 Deutschlandstipendium scholarships have been awarded over the past 13 years.
In order to receive a Deutschlandstipendium, students apply with proof of academic achievement, but any voluntary work or special achievements and awards are also taken into account when awarding the scholarship. Those who come from a non-academic household or work alongside their studies also have a better chance of receiving a Deutschlandstipendium. The selection is made by the TU Ilmenau Study Committee on the basis of anonymized data.
