Julia Herzen wants to further develop X-ray imaging, in order to gain a maximum of information from images. The European Research Council will fund the project with one of the prestigious ERC Consolidator Grants.
High-resolution X-ray imaging, a better understanding of how chromosomes work and synthetic life from the laboratory: these are the topics that three research projects at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) will be focusing on. Each of the projects will receive one of the European Research Council’s highly endowed ERC Consolidator Grants.

Researchers at TUM have so far been able to acquire a total of 206 of the prestigious ERC grants. These are awarded each year in different categories. Consolidator Grants are awarded to scientists who completed their doctorate seven to twelve years ago.
