On November 15, the TU Ilmenau is inviting pupils, students and interested parties in innovations in medical technology research on a fascinating journey into the world of biosignals. The Institute of Biomedical Engineering and Computer Science will gain insights into the complex signals of our body and their applications in medicine. The event will take place simultaneously in twelve different German university cities. Admission is free.
How can brain activity outside the laboratory be recorded in an app and used for sports science’ How can this brain activity be stimulated in order to treat depression and other illnesses’ How can the human retina be influenced in order to recognize and treat eye diseases’ During the "Night of Biosignals", exciting lectures and interesting laboratory tours will give visitors an insight into the complex signals of our body and explain how these signals are used in medical research, diagnosis and therapy.
From 6 p.m. until late in the evening, visitors of all’ages can immerse themselves in the world of biosignals at the research facility. They can learn about the latest developments in electrophysiology, radiology and ophthalmology from experts in biomedicine and discover the fascinating future of health sciences. Live broadcasts of events with experts at other locations in Germany will complement the on-site program.
