As of April 4, 2017, the University Library will not revoke extended lending periods any more. If there is no other reservation, the lending periods of borrowed books will automatically be extended by another four weeks.

What’s new:
  • Lending periods will be extended by four weeks if there is no other reservation.
  • Granted extensions can no longer be revoked.
  • Possible extensions: twice for the loan collection and five times for textbooks.

What will remain the same:
  • The lending period of a book will be extended automatically if there is no other reservation.
  • The lending period for magazines is two weeks - without the possibility of an extension.

Your benefits:
  • You will no longer have to return library items on short notice on someone else’s request.
  • The fixed return deadlines are listed in your OPAC account.
