Today (5 December 2023), Leipzig University presents the first issue of its new annual magazine. It is a celebration of the many projects, events, people and issues that shape life at the University.

With its cover topic World in Flux, the magazine presents some of the outstanding individuals who, with their research strengths and highly motivated teams, are behind Leipzig’s proposed clusters as part of the Excellence Strategy of the German federal and state governments. The three cover stories focus on the causes and consequences of childhood obesity, the impact of climate change and biodiversity loss, and the so-called global multi-crisis.

Readers can also find out more about special places such as the ScaDS.AI Living Lab and the Institute for Meteorology’s state-of-the-art new building, about strategies for sustainable action at our university and how students are involved, about extensive networks, strong supporters and exciting new ways of communicating science.

Review the highlights and major events of the past year and a half in a wide range of University news. And last but not least, our new annual magazine is the successor to the alumni magazine.
