The new German-language podcast series "We are TUM" meets the people who make the Technical University of Munich what it is: From top researchers to students and faculty to the "hidden champions" who usually remain behind the scenes. The episodes are introduced by President Thomas F. Hofmann.
"We are TUM" appears every six weeks on all relevant podcast platforms. The first two episodes are already online. In episode one, virologist Ulrike Protzer, Dean of the TUM School of Management Gunther Friedl and students Dany Serrano and Sebastian Faul talk about the effects and opportunities of the Corona pandemic. Further guests are Roland Wüchner, lecturer at the Chair of Structural Analysis, and Christoph Müller-Höcker from Allianz Technology.
In the second episode, computer scientist and Leibniz Prize winner Daniel Cremers explains how he uses machine learning to analyze and interpret image data. Student Veronica Becker reports on her "Plant a Seed" project, with which she and more than 80 students want to make the campus greener and more livable. In addition, Werner Lang provides insights into energy-efficient and sustainable construction, Gudrun Obst explains how room planning works at TUM, and Bavarian State Minister Bernd Sibler talks about the ONE MUNICH Strategy Forum, in which TUM and LMU jointly develop new fields of research.
