Award Ceremony at Department of Philosophy and Humanities on June 9, 2015
The highly regarded American historian and literary scholar Professor Hayden White will receive an honorary doctorate from Freie Universität Berlin. The award will be presented by the Department of Philosophy and Humanities in a public ceremony on June 9. With this award the Department is recognizing White’s contributions to the analysis of the rhetorical and narrative structures of (German) historical writing of the 19th century. Hayden White is currently professor emeritus at the History of Consciousness Program at the University of California, Santa Cruz and a professor of comparative literature at Stanford University. ...
