Universities have a key role to play in digitalization and sustainability. Along with their function as innovation incubators and places where students learn about sustainable and digital development, they also act as role models. A new English lecture series will now explore how the Technical University of Munich (TUM) can promote sustainable digitalization and digital sustainability, conduct relevant research, and put the results into practice.
The lecture series "Digital Sustainability Transformation of, by and for TUM" will be streamed via Zoom every Monday from 6.30 - 8.00 pm. The lectures are expressly intended for interested members of the general public outside the university.
The topic of the first public lecture, on April 19, 2021, is "Sustainability and higher education: How does this go together?". The guests will be Lara Lütke-Spatz, the managing director of the University & Sustainability Network Bavaria and Miranda Schreurs , a Professor of Environment and Climate Policy at TUM.
The lecture series is taking place under the auspices of the Professorship of Policy Analysis at the Bavarian School for Public Policy at TUM. It is part of a teaching and research project on digitalization and sustainability ("digitainability"). Complementing the lectures, a seminar will be open to students who want to realize their own projects for a "digitainable TUM".
