Award for Academic Commitment in Reunification Research

Eun-Jeung Lee, the director of the Institute of Korean Studies at Freie Universität Berlin, has received one of the highest awards the government of South Korea confers on private citizens. She was honored in recognition of her commitment to reunification research and education. The award was presented in the capital Seoul by the Korean Minister of Unification Kim Yeon Chul. South Korean President Moon Jae In and Prime Minister Lee Nak Yeon selected Professor Lee for this award, following a recommendation made by the Ministry of Unification.
