Everyone, who lives in Germany, needs to have a statutory health insurance. Persons with an income above a certain level, can chose a private health insurance. But whether statutory or private health insurance, it is worth to take a closer look.
What do I have to consider as a foreigner?
If you have your residence in Germany as a foreigner, you have to respect the same regulations as a German citizen.
Even foreigners which are in Germany for their job search, needs to have a health insurance. EU-citizens may use their European Health Card. However, the treatment is restricted to emergency care.
