The School of Pharmaceutical Sciences in the Faculty of Sciences at the University of Geneva, Switzerland, has an opening for:

AN ASSISTANT (tenure track) or ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR
in the field of Pharmaceutical Technology

The School of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Geneva offers a dynamic and highly stimulating research environment. It has been one of the world’s leading schools of pharmaceutical sciences for several years, and boasts a new, high-quality infrastructure enabling it to host collaborations under the best possible conditions. The School invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor (tenure-track) or Associate Professor (PAST-PA) in the field of pharmaceutical technology. The main challenges in this field, to which the research of the new group headed by the new professor should respond, include: (i) Drug formulation and delivery - developing complex and/or intelligent drug delivery systems and formulations that improve stability, bioavailability, targeting, and patient compliance is a major challenge. Overcoming obstacles such as low solubility, rapid metabolism and controlled release remains a priority; (ii) Biopharmaceuticals and biotechnology-derived products - the rise of biopharmaceuticals, including monoclonal antibodies, gene therapies, RNA-based therapies and vaccines, poses challenges in formulation/production, purification and administration and opportunities for innovation; (iii) Personalized medicine - tailoring drug therapies to individual patient characteristics requires advances in pharmaceutical technology. This includes the development of dosage forms, diagnostics, and personalized treatment strategies. Research activities involving the application of artificial intelligence to pharmaceutical technology could be considered an added value. Excellent applications involving research in other areas of pharmaceutical technology will also be considered.
