Research Cooperation Manager at ETH Future Computing Laboratory

The ETH Future Computing Laboratory (EFCL) is an industry-funded research centre that aims to spearhead the development of advanced computing systems that have the potential to change the world’s technological trajectory. With a focus on hardware and software, the EFCL engages in long-term, foundational research that spans many domains, including computer architecture, computer vision, integrated circuits, high-performance computing, and systems security. The EFCL is looking for a Research Cooperation Manager to join the centre and contribute to its growth and mission.

Job description

  • Engaging with the current industrial partners, including running project funding rounds which requires:
    • Facilitating initial project meetings
    • Facilitating the production of project proposals
    • Ensuring legal compliance of all research proposals
  • Managing and allocating the EFCL’s budget
  • Cultivating relationships with new industrial partners
  • Maintaining relationships with all of the internal and external EFCL stakeholders, possibly engaging with other internal parties at the ETH to help facilitate cross-disciplinary research, and to help grow the centre
  • Setting up and running EFCL events
  • Growing the EFCL in terms of visibility and establishing the required initiatives within the centre to achieve this
  • Facilitating communication between all EFCL research groups


Your profile

  • A PhD in one of the core EFCL technical streams (Computer Architecture, Computer Vision, High-Performance Computing, Integrated Circuits, Systems Security)
  • 2 - 4 years of management and industry experience preferred
  • Demonstrated project management and networking skills, leadership and organizational abilities advantageous
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills, German proficiency advantageous
  • Candidate should be enthusiastic and passionate about growing the field of computing
