Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral position to work on the development of novel antivirals, in the department of Microbiology and Molecular Medicine, at the Facutly of Medicine of the University of Geneva [?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.unige.ch%2Fmedecine%2Fmimo%2Fen%2Fgroupes%2F953tapparel%2F&module=jobs&id=167462" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">https://www.unige.ch/medecine/mimo/en/groupes/953tapparel/]. In recent years, we have developed broad spectrum virucidal compounds targeting viruses using heparan sulfate or sialic acid as attachment receptors. We are continuing this project by seeking to design new compounds to defeat other important viral pathogens, including SARS-CoV-2.

Your Tasks

The candidate will participate in the design, optimization and validation of new compounds in cellular and tissue culture models.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Recent Ph.D. in virology
  • Publications in peer-reviewed journals with at least one first author publication
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good oral/written communication
Please note that only candidates currently residing in Europe will be considered for this position.
