Microscopy & Tribology Post-Doctoral position for 2 years
Your Tasks
Your mission
The mission of this position will be to focus on understanding microstructure and mechanical behavior of various materials, specially related to the tribology application. This will include the following responsibilities:
Evaluate microstructural by the dual-beam FIB-SEM & High Resolution TEM techniques
Conduct tribological and mechanical investigations in correlation with microstructure
Prepare samples SEM/TEM
Be responsible for equipment troubleshooting and performing/coordinating instrument maintenance and service
Provide microstructural services upon request by microscopy and X-ray diffraction
Organize individual or group training sessions
Actively manage, improve and develop the infrastructure of the AMCR sector
You will have the chance to perform a multidisciplinary work in an industrial environment, while participating in various projects and working within a motivated and experienced project-team.
Requirements
Your profile
PhD degree in physical/materials sciences/engineering or related discipline
Strong background in Material Science and fundamental knowledge of the operating characteristics of electron microscopes, ion beam columns and vacuum systems
Proven experience with electron- and ion-beam instrumentation and research experience in Microscopy & Tribology
Experience in mechanical testing and materials characterization by FIB, SEM &TEM
Ability to work autonomously, while willing to perform and develop within a team
Creative and innovative personality
Excellent oral/written communication skills in English and/or French
Experience in the formulation and development of novel materials considered as a plus
