The Couple and Family Psychology Lab, headed by Dr Anne Milek, within the Institute of Psychology at the University of Münster, Germany, is seeking to fill the following two positions:



Research Associate (Postdoc Position & Predoc Position)
(wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin/wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter)
(salary level 13 TV-L)


These fixed-term posts are available for a three-year period for the postdoc position (100% full-time) and a three-year period for the predoc position (65% part-time) starting 1 October 2019. Currently, the regular full (100%) employment time is 39 hours and 50 minutes per week. Remuneration is based on the guidelines and employment conditions of WWU Münster and varies according to experience and level of the candidate.

The Couples and Family Psychology Lab was newly established at WWU Münster in May 2019. The lab investigates the role of everyday interactions in mental and physical health processes in family systems. Research methods include everyday and lab-based assessment methods (e.g., ambulatory assessment, behavioural observation, etc.).

Areas of responsibility

  • (Independent) planning and implementation of research projects
  • Publication of research results in international scientific journals
  • Acquisition of third-party funds (postdoc position)
  • Participation in national and international conferences
  • Student mentoring
  • Participation in teaching and research administration

We are looking for motivated persons with

  • A very good university master’s degree in psychology
  • Relevant empirical research experience (e.g., project management skills, scientific writing skills, etc.)
  • Very good methodological skills in the field of intensive longitudinal data analysis (e.g., structural equation and multi-level models) and/or the ambition to acquire these skills
  • Interest in couple- and family-related topics
  • Very good language skills in English (written and spoken)
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Organizational talent, positive and responsible work ethic

Additional requirements for the postdoc position

  • A PhD in psychology or a related discipline
  • Publications in renowned scientific journals
  • Experience in mentoring students
