Scientific research, teaching and the acquisition of third party funding at the working group of Applied Statistics. The prospective candidate will develop statistical methods that build a bridge between machine learning (e.g. deep learning) techniques and advanced Bayesian approaches. Further tasks include teaching responsibilities. Completed Master or PhD in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science (specialisation in Statistics/Mathematics), Econometrics or a related field of research required. Furthermore, advanced knowledge in at least one of machine or statistical learning, computational methods, Bayesian statistics and flexible regression models is necessary. Good mathematical skills and experience in scientific programming with Matlab, R, C/C++, Python or similar required. The prospective candidate is expected to have high interest in the development of statistical methodology and its application in various applied areas. Good mathematical understanding required. We expect good communication skills and proficiency in written and spoken English.
