The Institute for Mineralogy, Geosciences Department (FB 14), at the University of Münster, Germany, invites applications for a position as

Research Associate (Wissenschaftliche/r Mitarbeiter/in)
(full-time) (Salary Level E 13 TV-L)

This position is available for the duration of maternity leave (Mutterschutz) and perhaps parental leave (Elternzeit) of the holder of the position, starting July 1st 2019 for a period of approximately six months. Currently, the regular full employment time is 39 hours and 50 minutes per week. The successful candidate is expected to contribute to teaching (4 hours per week) in Mineralogy and Mineral Physics at the Bachelor and Master levels.


We seek a highly motivated individual with broad interest in deep Earth processes and focus in the study of the deep volatile cycles from experimental studies and thermodynamic modeling. The successful candidate should have a PhD degree in geosciences, physics, chemistry or a related field by the time of the appointment. Previous post-doctoral experience will be appreciated but it is not required. The working language at the Institute is English. Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently and to teach at all levels in Mineralogy/Mineral Physics are expected.
