A personality who represents the field of microsystems technology with applications in the field of medical technology in research and teaching is sought.
Internationally recognized scientific achievements are expected for example in the following areas: - MEMS and Bio-MEMS, e.g. microelectrodes, - Construction and connection technology for medical engineering, including biocompatibility, - Microfluidic systems, in particular lab-on-a-chip technologies, - Miniaturized system components for biomedical imaging or interventional therapies.
In addition to an excellent personal and technological infrastructure (packaging lab, injection molding machines, reliability labs, shared used MEMS clean room), the personality to be employed can expect an outstanding interdisciplinary research environment, in particular by the close cooperation between the faculties of electrical engineering and information technology, physics, biology and medicine within the field of medical engineering as well as the STIMULATE research campus (?url=www.forschungscampus-stimulate.de&module=jobs&id=145352" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">www.forschungscampus-stimulate.de). In addition, a connection to the Magdeburg Leibniz Institute for Neurobiology (?url=www.lin-magdeburg.de&module=jobs&id=145352" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">www.lin-magdeburg.de) (LIN-Fellowship) is possible.
Furthermore, there are numerous links to the main research area Dynamic Systems. The future holder will represent the field of microsystems technology in its entirety in research and teaching and should bring the willingness to participate in the various bachelor’s and master’s degree courses, in particular electrical engineering and information technology, medical engineering, system engineering and technical cybernetics as well as mechatronics.
Apart from excellent academic qualifications as well as didactic skills and experience in teaching, the applicants are particularly expected to be able to work together in an interdisciplinary manner.
Habilitation or an equivalent scientific qualification gained through long lasting professional experience and responsibility in industry or a research institute is a prerequisite for employment.
Formal prerequisites for the appointment are set out especially in § 35 of the Higher Education Act for the Federal State of Saxony-Anhalt ( Hochschulgesetz Sachsen-Anhalt ).
