This associate professorship was established as part of a federal- and state-funded programme to promote highly talented and potentially top-performing pupils at the University of Münster. The aim is to academically develop the professional competence of (aspiring) instructors in the area of pedagogical diagnostics and potential development, also with respect to disadvantages and impairments. We would like the candidate to collaborate with the International Centre for the Study of Giftedness (ICBF), as well as thematically related fields at the Institute of Education (IfE), the subdisciplines in the educational sciences and the teaching degree subjects.

Furthermore, the selected candidate will be required to give courses in the thematically relevant modules of the bachelor’s and master’s degree programmes in educational science, supervise students completing in-school practical phases, carry out self-administrative tasks and administer examinations.
To be considered for this position, the candidate must possess:

  • subject-relevant, above-average university degree in educational science/teaching degree or in psychology
  • pedagogical aptitude in university teaching
  • thematically relevant, outstanding doctoral degree and ideally further research projects and publications on pedagogical diagnostics and potential development

Furthermore, the following qualifications are desired:

  • participation in thematically relevant, externally funded R&D projects
  • empirical research on professional skills in the area of pedagogical diagnostics and potential development
  • experience in further education of teaching staff
  • experience in acquiring third-party financing

The University of Münster is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to increasing the proportion of women academics. Consequently, we actively encourage applications by women. Female candidates with equivalent qualifications and academic achievements will be preferentially considered within the framework of the legal possibilities. We also welcome applications from candidates with severe disabilities. Disabled candidates with equivalent qualifications will be preferentially considered.

Please submit your application with the usual documents (CV, description of your academic career, list of publications and projects, list of courses taught in the past three years, certificates) in electronic form (as a single PDF file) by 8 March 2019 to:
