Vacancy Notice The Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg (OVGU) is an internationally oriented and regionally networked university with a strong research profile.
Our traditional focus areas in research and teaching are in engineering sciences, mathematics, computer sciences, natural sciences and medicine.

We are looking for a personality who has excellent scientific credentials in the field of wireless communication systems and sound experience in both of the following areas:
  • High-frequency systems (massive MIMO, mobile radio systems, channel models, antennas, positioning systems, real-time data transmission)
  • System aspects of networked communication (cognitive radio, network coding, real-time heterogeneous communication networks, communication of autonomous devices, optimal resource allocation) Fields of application in which experience is desired are in particular:
  • Vehicle-2-X communication, autonomous driving
  • Transmission methods for future radio systems (e.g. 5G) - Mobile Ad-Hoc Networks, Quality of Service - IT security, resilience - Internet of Things Possible focal points include the field of intelligent mobility, smart technologies and systems, industry 4.0 and medical technology.
    In terms of content, the professorship will focus on the development of techniques and their hardware implementation.
    A close cooperation with the working groups of the faculties and with non-university research institutions is desired.
    An active participation in the courses of study of the faculty, in particular the course of study electromobility, as well as in the research and transfer focal points automotive and medical technology of the university, is expected.
    The future holder of a position shall represent the entire research area. This includes research and teaching for bachelor’s and master’s degree courses, for which didactic skills are expected.
