Ideally, we are looking for someone with specialist knowledge on the history and cultural heritage of East . The successful candidate must also be willing to immerse her or himself in the content and regional focus . Knowledge of an East European language is an advantage. Internationally recognized research and successes in applying for third-party funding (for example, through the DFG or . Preferably, applicants have experiences in managing projects or network structures.
The successful applicant for this position will be expected to make a strong contribution to the JLU while at the same time actively supporting the development of the Herder Institute’s research . The professorship will also involve further developing Digital History as a field of research as well as developing and carrying out independent and third-party funding applications for projects related to . A further responsibility will be to collaborate with researchers in visually-based subject areas . We are looking for an applicant who will have a strategic interest in cooperating with partners in East Central Europe, both within universities and in non-university . The position will also involve working at the Institute for History at JLU, the Center for Media and Interactivity (ZMI), the Giessen Center for East European Studies (GiZo), the International Graduate Center for the Study of Culture (GCSC) as well as . An important part of the role will also entail . The teaching aspect of this role will involve delivering a range of BA and MA courses in the area of History and interdisciplinary studies (in Journalism and Public History and as part of the GiZo MA "Interdisciplinary Studies on East Central Europe") as well as developing and delivering courses for teacher training programs.
