The Faculty of Physics at the University of Münster, Germany, is seeking to fill the post of a

Research Associate
(Wissenschaftliche/r Mitarbeiter/in)
(salary level E 13 TV-L, 50%)

This fixed-term post, subject to the allocation of funds by the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, is available starting 1 February 2019 and is initially limited to three years. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to pursue a doctoral degree. Currently, the regular full employment time is 39 hours and 50 minutes per week.

Scope of duties
The duties of this position include the design and implementation of fiber-based optical laser systems for applications in quantum science as well as supporting the research of Dr Kues’s group.

Applicant requirements
Applicants must have a relevant Diplom or master’s degree, for example in physics, optical technologies, photonics or optics. The ideal candidate has a strong background in optics and photonics. Knowledge in quantum mechanics and quantum information science is desirable. The candidate should have the ability and willingness to work together with experts from broad areas in science and technology. In addition, very good oral and written communication skills in English are expected.
