Junior Professorship for "Clinical child and adolescent psychology and psychotherapy"

 

starting as soon as possible. This is a W2 tenure track position. In order to verify whether the individual performance meets the requirements of a permanent employment, an evaluation process will be opened not later than five years of service. The professorship will be funded by the "Bund-Länder-Programm zur Förderung des wissenschaftlichen Nachwuchses". The aim of the programme is to pave the way for a secure career in academia for early stage researchers. Tenure track professors at the HU Berlin are expected to carry out research and teach, as well as be active on various university committees and acquire leadership and management skills. We seek a high potential early-stage scientist who will establish the field of clinical child and adolescent psychology and -psychotherapy in research and teaching within the Dept. of Psychology. Applications are sought from candidates with a relevant track record of research productivity as documented by publications and third-party funded projects. The successful candidate will have access to the Institute’s outpatient centre for psychotherapy and -diagnostics. Requirements include either a board certification (’Approbation’) as child and adolescent psychotherapist or adult psychotherapist with additional qualification for children and adolescents, or being in advanced postgraduate training. Applicants shall have clinical experience in working with children and adolescents. The associate professor will closely collaborate with the professorships of clinical psychology and psychotherapy. We expect the position holder to be actively engaged in implementing a new curriculum in Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy (’Approbationsstudium’) which is currently reformed in Germany. Further cooperation with work groups from the other two main research areas at the Dept. is encouraged.

 

Teaching encompasses basic and extended courses on clinical psychology and psychotherapy (bachelor level) as well as practically-oriented courses on clinical syndromes and psychological treatment approaches in children and adolescents (master level). Teaching load will be four hours per week prior to and six semester hours per week after the interim evaluation.

 

The applicants must meet the legal requirements for professorial appointments in accordance with § 102c combined with § 102a of the ’Berliner Hochschulgeset z’ .
