Research Laboratory Wood of the Technical University of Munich Univ.-Prof. Dr. Klaus Richter, Chair of Wood Science The chair of Wood Science at TUM and the linked professorships support an innovative and sustainable utilization of wood-based materials and products by competitive research, high level education and development projects. For the research area Wood Material Science, whose activities are addressing mechanisms and processes at different hierarchical levels of wooden substrates and products, we are seeking a Research Associate - Postdoc Wood Material Science (100%)

Tasks:

  • Further development of the research area profile by coaching and supervising several research projects in the field of wood-adhesive interact
  • Self-reliant development, application and management of projects in own research area
  • Teaching courses in wood material science and technology, supervision of graduate students
  • Cooperation with industry in testing and service works


Your profile:

  • A university degree and an outstanding doctoral degree in Wood or Material Science and Technology, Physics, Chemistry, or similar
  • Excellent achievements in research regarding the relevant career level
  • Enthusiasm for research and scientific work incl. focused communication of the results
  • Experiences in teaching, pleasure in interacting with students Self-reliant working and capability to motivate and perform in teams
  • Good proficiency in German and English speaking and writing

Further details:

  • Contract duration initially 3 years, extension to be decided upon performance
