    The Statistical Physics Group at the Physics Department of the Carl von Ossietzky University Oldenburg (Germany) welcomes applications for a

    post-doc position (E13)

    in theoretical physics. The job description comprises contributions to the main research activities of the group (stochastic thermodynamics and statistical mechanics of disordered systems), supervision of students, as well as teaching obligations in theoretical physics. Conditions of employment are a qualifying university degree (diploma or master) and a PhD in theoretical physics. Experiences with modern analytical and numerical techniques for the analysis of stochastic and disordered systems are advantageous.

    The position is non-permanent, the first employment is for three years. A prolongation is envisaged. Full-time positions can be also turned into part-time ones.

    The University of Oldenburg strives to increase the percentage of women in science. According to § 21, 3 NHG (legislation governing Higher Education in Lower Saxony) equally qualified female candidates will be given preference.
